TunnelVision

This is a peculiar 7″ from 1976. I don’t know a thing about it, and an internet search yielded no information. Side A is a parody newscast that is frighteningly accurate, considering the time it was made (Exxon oil spills, a pregnant man). Side B is the TunnelVision theme. If you know anything about this please get in touch. If not, enjoy “the best TV on TV!” (but hey, enough with the Polish jokes already!)

  1. This was a sort of sketch comedy movie in the vain of The Groove Tube or Kentucky Fried Movie in spoofing movies, TV and other topics of the day. You can check it out here in case you haven’t already.

  2. This is a promo for a movie released in 1976, it’s a ‘sketch comedy’ movie like Groove Tube and Kentucky Fried movie. I have a 35mm print of it!

  3. I recall Side 1 was played for several consecutive weeks on the Dr. Demento show, around the time the movie was out. I believe the film producers thought that radio stations would play both the theme and the comedy routines, as a way to drum up business at the box office, but other than Dr. Demento, nobody (in Southern California, anyway) played it. The movie was released on VHS and shows up on cable on rare occasions, but I don’t think it has ever been released on DVD/BluRay.

  4. There were at least 2 different DVD releases but are both now out of print. The best one is from Eclectic DVD Distribution, the one on the defunct Catcom label, which also include “The Boob Tube”, has a few seconds missing due to film damage.

Heck the early “MEDA/Media Home Entertainment” VHS release was also pretty splicey I recall.
